Dachau

While there was plenty of fun to be had in Munich we wanted to make sure that we made it Dachau. After taking it easy on Saturday, we made it out to the Concentration Camp by about noon on Sunday.

We spent three hours walking the grounds and listening to the Audio guide as each element combined to paint a terrible picture. There are other camps that still remain to this
Day, but Dachau seemed to be what laid the groundwork for the unrelenting punishment that occurred during WWII. Many of the original buildings still exists (registration house, crematorium, guard towers, walls, barrack foundations) and we spent most of the time in silence.

The Crematorium and the Registration had the most lasting impact. The latter of which walks you along a timeline from the rise of the Nazi Party to the liberation of the Camps all while walking the path the newly arrived prisoners would take.
