With some minor interruptions here and there I didn't wake up until 12:30pm the next day... I haven't slept over 18 hours since college. Needless to say there was some embarrassment on our end and we moved quickly to get out of the apartment before our hosts came back for lunch.
We figured we had some time to make up so we got moving and made it to Catedral de Barcelona. The architecture was unbelievable and the sheer night of the place is hard to describe. We also made it onto the roof for some great views of the city.
Next up was a quick stop at the old Roman Wall before venturing off the the Ard de Triomf.
From there we meandered through a park or two that lead to the Olympic Vilłage before finally hitting the beach. What an incredible place. It felt as if everyone in the city came here to meet up after work. The beach is lined with restaurants (some swanky and some not) so we decide to grab a drink and watch the afternoon play out. About an hour later it was time to head back and change for dinner.
We decided to head back to area near the beach, la Barceloneta, and grab dinner at was probably a place that is all tourists. I managed to order an appetizer that was only green peppers on a plate and a main that was 8 shrimp on plate. Ashley did a much better job and had a delicious monkfish.
Now it's time for bed, hopefully we wake up a little, earlier tomorrow.
